If you have ever gone looking for a replacement plate for your Weber, you already know the two problems. The genuine part costs a decent chunk of what you paid for the barbecue, and working out which one actually fits yours is harder than it should be.

That is the gap Campaquip fills. We design and sell cast iron grill plates, griddle plates, burners, flavorizer bars, cooking grates, rotisserie kits and covers for Weber barbecues, so that fixing the barbecue you already own makes more sense than replacing it.

What we make

Our range covers the Weber barbecues Australians actually own, across three generations of the Q series plus the Kettle and the Spirit II:

Designed and tested in Australia

Our plates are not generic imports with a sticker on them. They are drawn up for specific Weber models and tested against Australian and international standards:

  • Australian Registered Design 347851. Our full griddle plates are a registered design, not a copy of someone else's.
  • Designed and tested in Australia to AS 4557. That is the Australian Standard our full griddle plates are tested against.
  • Made to ASTM A834. Our half grill and half griddle plates are manufactured to that cast iron standard.
  • Matt porcelain enamel finish on the plates, for rust protection and an even cooking surface.

The design details are the part we care most about, because they come from cooking on these barbecues rather than from a catalogue. The centre hole on our full griddle sits directly over the drip tray, so fats and oils drain where they are meant to instead of pooling. The raised edges hold the juices on the plate. Our Mega-Flame burners are drilled with larger holes than the originals for a bigger, more even flame. And because the plate has proper airflow gaps around the outside and through the centre, you can cook the Aussie way with the lid up, or the traditional way with it down, without ruining the cook either way.

Buy the one you need, not the set

Weber tends to sell replacement plates in pairs. If only one of yours is worn out, that is money you did not need to spend. We sell our half grills and half griddles as singles as well as sets, so you can replace exactly what is worn and mix a grill on one side with a solid plate on the other.

We also make the half plate mounting seats (part HPSEAT) that older Q100, Q120, Q200, Q220, Q300 and Q320 models need in order to take a half plate at all. Those are exclusive to Campaquip, and without them the older barbecues simply cannot be upgraded.

Getting the right part

Fitment is the thing people get wrong most often, and it is nearly always the same trap: Weber's model numbers change by a single character between generations that do not share parts. A Q1200 and a Q1200N are different barbecues, and a plate for one will not fit the other.

The safest check takes ten seconds. Find the Model No. on the data label on your barbecue, then match it against the compatibility list on the product page. Common questions

Are Campaquip parts genuine Weber parts?
No. Campaquip is an independent Australian brand and we are not affiliated with Weber. We make aftermarket parts designed to fit Weber barbecues. Weber is a registered trademark of Weber-Stephen Products LLC and we use the model names only to describe what our parts fit.

Will your plates fit the new N Series barbecues?
Our classic Q plates will not fit the N Series (Q1000N, Q1200N, Q2000N, Q2200N, Q2600N+, Q2800N+, Q3100N, Q3200N). We make a separate N Series range for those models. Check the Model No. on your data label and buy from the matching range.

My barbecue is an older Q100 or Q200. Can I still use half plates?
Yes, but you will need a pack of half plate mounting seats (HPSEAT) as well. They are sold separately and they are exclusive to us.

Do I need to season a cast iron plate?
Yes, and it makes a real difference to how it cooks and how long it lasts. We have written a full guide on how to season a cast iron BBQ plate.
